About Me
The first time I put a needle in real live flesh was in early 1999. Dave
Anderson, the guy who apprenticed me, was working on a good friend of mine and I
was told to "glove-up". Much to my surprise, (and the guy who was getting
tattooed) I was instructed to fill in a solid black spot on a black and gray
tattoo.
Dave Anderson (a.k.a. Detail Dave) is the owner of Altered Skin Studios where
I started in 1996 as a piercing apprentice. I knew full well I wanted to do
tattoos but I didn't know anything about how to go about it so I ended up
spending a few years as a piercer before starting a tattoo apprenticeship.
I always knew I wanted to explore the world so I decided I had to get out of Montana.
I sold my trailer, the two broken down cars in the front
yard, said good bye to the trailer park and took off to the closest "big city", Seattle.
I'm now at ArtCore Studios where I have the pleasure of working with
phenomenal and inspiring artists. I love doing all kinds of tattoos, but my favorites are pin-ups and
portraits. There are so many great possibilities for tattoos no one should settle for anything less than
exactly what they want.
